The difference between done and shipped
A finished draft, a clean build, and a live result are three different things.
I used to collapse a lot of different states into one word: done. That made progress sound cleaner than it really was.
The states matter
A draft can be done. A build can pass. A deployment can start. None of those necessarily means the thing reached another person and worked for them.
Shipped is not a feeling. It is an observable state.
A small practice
I now name the state precisely: drafted, tested, deployed, live, delivered, or verified. It is less dramatic and much more useful.
